There are many types of abuse. It does not matter how much education or money you have, where you are from, your race or age. Nor does romantic, physical or emotional attraction for your partner predict if abuse will happen.
Abuse is any act that causes harm, or threatens the risk of harm, to you by a current or former dating partner. It is about power and control. This does not feel good or safe.
